Ski Fast, Have Fun!
The Tufts Ski Team is a group of student-athletes with one thing in common: we love to ski. Our individual skiing ability ranges from recreational skiers to seasoned academy racers, with a focus on learning how to become a faster alpine racer. For the novice racer, the ski team provides an opportunity to travel throughout New England and ski every weekend, learning how to ski race in a fun and supportive environment. For seasoned racers, the team provides a competitive environment under a less stressful “team” format. Our races are highly competitive, with top racers in the 50 point (FIS) range. Last season, both our women's team and our men's team placed second overall in the Thompson Division and both teams qualified for Eastern Regionals.
Our season begins ever January with a week-long training camp over winter break. New this year, we are excited to announce that we will be at Attitash which will give the team the opportunity to train on a FIS regulation course! Our experienced coaches lead the team through a racing progression that mixes drills with gate training, improving everyone's skiing ability and confidence. We have 12 races in January and February at nearby mountains in Maine, New Hampshire, and Vermont. During the season, the team practices twice weekly at Bradford Ski Area in Northern Mass.
