The whole Tufts Ski Team came together at Waterville Valley, New Hampshire for a week of training followed by two days of racing at Sunday River, Maine. The weather ranged from rain on Monday to single digit temperatures the rest of the training week. All of our racers had the chance to improve their skiing and racing abilities, while at the same time having fun and bonding with their new and old teammates, on and off the mountain. Saturday's race was canceled due to icing, which gave us a day to relax and recover from a hard week of training. Sunday, a never before attempted double giant slalom race, with the finish of one race leading directly to the start of the next was attempted. However, high winds forced lift closures, which canceled the second run of both races. Both the men and the women's teams finished second in both races, with senior and captain Chelsea Stevens placing 1st in the first giant slalom race.
